As of January 1, 2015 State of Maryland regulations require minimum wage for hourly paid employees to increase from $7.25 to $8.00. This will automatically be adjusted for individuals who currently have a rate below $8.00 with an effective date of 1/1/2015; this change does not require any further action on the part of departments.
It is recommended that departments review current work hours and pay rates, forecast for potential changes and make necessary adjustments in order to account for this requirement within existing budgets.
