As previously announced in Daily Digests, Towerlight ads, eTU articles and campus forums, the new visitor parking program has been implemented on campus and pay stations will be in operation on the first day of classes, August 27, 2007.
Where can visitors park?
Visitors must park in one of the designated visitor lots during peak times. Visitors may also park in the Towson Center lots (except the gated faculty/staff lot 21a) and in other campus lots after the hours of restriction. Visitor lot locations are below. Please note that Towson Center visitor permits are not valid in the main campus visitor lots.
Main Campus Visitor Parking
1. The first floor ramp of the Towsontown Garage is the main visitor parking location, with a customer information booth on site. The booth will be staffed from 7:45 a.m. ? 4 p.m.
2. The Glen Drive visitor lot is located adjacent to Stephens Drive and also has a customer information booth. The booth will be staffed from 7:45 a.m. ? 4 p.m. and will not accept cash payments ? only departmental visitor codes.
3. The front lot of the Administration Building now contains visitor parking and a customer information booth. Overflow visitor parking is also available in lot 24 behind the Administration Building, near St. Joe?s and the former Valley View apartment complex.
4. Lot 11 near the Osler Drive entrance to the Union Garage will offer limited visitor spaces intended as short-term parking for individuals going to the Union.
Towson Center Visitor Parking
1. Visitor parking is available in all Towson Center lots except the gated faculty/staff lot 21a. Pay stations will be located in the front of lots 21 and 13.
How are visitor parking fees paid?
Visitor fees may be paid by the department or by the individual. Information regarding payment options is below.
Permits Paid by the Department
Any department on campus may request visitor codes to be used in lieu of cash payment at any pay station.
1. Departments should request codes from Parking and Transportation Services at the beginning of each semester. The number of codes requested should be based on the number of guests the department expects to have during that semester. Additional codes may be requested throughout the semester. The visitor code request form may be found at {http://wwwnew.towson.edu/adminfinance/auxservices/parking/documents/DeptGuestParkingCodePermitForm7-07.doc}
2. The inviting department will provide their visitor with a code that is valid for a single use. The visitor should be directed to a visitor lot and informed they will use the code at the pay station to get their permit.
3. Upon their arrival, the guests will go to the pay station, select ?Department Visitor? permit and enter the code into the pay station in lieu of a cash payment. The pay station will print a permit that must be displayed on the dash of the vehicle.
4. On a periodic basis, Parking and Transportation Services will conduct an audit and automatically bill the department only for those codes used.
