Major IT Services Downtime Planned for Sunday, July 15th
From midnight until 5 a.m. July 15 access to all campus services will be periodically unavailable to enable an upgrade of our internet link and network maintenance to ensure audit compliance. The list of major services affected include:
– Internet
– Blackboard
– E-mail
– Peoplesoft
– Tiger
– Virtual Private Network (VPN)
– Pylon
– Remote Access Server (RAS)
– Citrix
The following network services will be unavailable from 6 a.m. until noon on July 15 due to a storage infrastructure upgrade:
– Network printing
– PeopleSoft
– Blackboard
-Sharepoint
– Faculty/staff e-mail
– Credit card transactions
– Database connectivity
– Inside
Student e-mail will not be affected by the downtime. Incoming faculty/staff e-mail during the outage will be spooled for delivery once the maintenance is complete.
After all services are back online, network connectivity issues can be resolved by rebooting the device. OTS recommends that users shut down all unused campus computers for this weekend only.
