Throughout the coming academic year, in particular the spring 2010 semester, numerous construction projects will cause the elimination of a large number of parking spaces. While we are comfortable that normal parking demands for Faculty/Staff and students can be met during these times, parking for events will be extremely limited.
Any departments or organization that may be planning an event that will include outside guests should be aware that there will be limited parking available for outside guests during peak times. Peak hours are Monday through Friday, from 6 am to 4 pm. During these times there will only be approximately 50 spaces allotted for outside event guests. These spaces will be made available on a first come first serve basis and will most likely be located at the Towson Center lots. Once spaces have been allocated to a group, parking requests for any other event requiring parking for outside guests will likely be denied. The group will need to change their event date/time or make arrangements with Baltimore County for parking in county garages.
Departments are strongly urged to plan for events during evening hours (guests arriving after 4 pm) or on weekends.
