The Towson University Veterans Center would like to reach out with a sincere thank you to everyone that participated in this year’s drive. Whether you were involved as a volunteer, donor or both we would like to let you know that the drive was incredibly successful and blew out the numbers from the 2013 drive.
In terms of volunteers, the 2014 drive had well over 150 individuals come out and volunteer their time in varying capacities from wrapping and/or delivering boxes to their donation locations, or manning the bus itself on Osler Drive and attending Drive related events. As it pertains to the raw numbers of the drive in 2013 the Marine Toys for Tots received a donation of 510 toy items, this past year we bumped it up to 1400 new toy donations! In addition, the 2013 drive led to a donation of 1400 pounds of food to the Maryland food bank. This years drive we had a whopping 2,927 pounds of food donated which equals out to 1200 meals for needy families this past holiday season.
We want to extend a very hearty thank you to all of you who took part, the drive from this past year was far and away a fantastic success, and we are looking forward to continuing that success in years to come.
