Campus energy usage often skyrockets during cold weather. Before you leave your office/residence, turn off and unplug the following:
- Lights
- Cell phone & tablet chargers
- Coffee makers
- Computers (only students should turn off/unplug computers; faculty and staff should log-off to allow for software updates. The university’s power management software will reduce faculty/staff computers’ energy consumption while they are not in use.)
- Heating – put on lowest setting
We will follow our usual practice of significantly reducing indoor building temperatures wherever possible during the break. Exceptions have been made for certain facilities, for example, animal care facilities, art galleries and buildings in which scheduled events will take place.
Thank you for doing your part to help reduce energy consumption and lower energy costs during winter break. For more information, go to {http://www.towson.edu/energy} or contact Dennis Bohlayer at x4-3392.
