Dr. Alex Storrs, Department of Physics, Astronomy and Geosciences, will present a planetarium show titled, “What Was the Christmas Star?” in the Watson-King Planetarium, Smith Hall, Room 521.
We discuss possibilities for the star mentioned in the Gospel of Matthew (and nowhere else) in light of some recent speculation about ancient astrology, as well as modern astronomical discoveries. Who were those “Wise Men”, and did they wind up in a tiny town like Bethlehem? Plan to come and enjoy the show on Friday, December 20, 2013, Two Showings: 7:00 pm and 8:00pm.
