Dance Photography and Film Presentations celebrating Hispanic and Native American Month

An interdisciplinary initiative between the College of Fine Arts and Communication, the Department of Art & Design, Art History and Art Education, The Women?s Center and Office of Student Diversity presents two exquisite presentations of the creative work of women on the subject of dance.

A documentary film Water Flowing Together by Gwendolyn Cates will be shown in the Mainstage Theatre of the Center for the Arts Thursday, November 6 at 7:00pm. Ms. Cates documentary features Jock Soto?s ?journey from a hardscrabble childhood to stardom? as Principal Dancer for the New York City Ballet. Rose Eichenbaum, award-winning dance photographer and author, will present a lecture and slide presentation on her recent publication of A Dancer Within on Thursday, November 13, 2008, 6:30pm-7:30pm in the CFA Room CA2032. Ms. Eichenbaum will talk with students immediately preceding the lecture from 5:00pm-6:00pm in CFA Room CA4010. The TU Bookstore will have copies of The Dancer Within for sale before and after. Both presentations are open to students and faculty.
