2005 Baltimore Book Fest Literary Award Winner To Read

Prize-winning novelist Paul Mandelbaum will read from his work Monday, Sept. 26th at 5pm in the Potomac Lounge at the University Union. Mandelbaum?s novel, Garret in Wedlock (Berkeley, 2004) received excellent reviews from the LA Times Book Review, The Washington Post, Philadelphia Weekly, and Baltimore Magazine, among others. His second novel, Adriane on the Edge, comes out in December. Mandelbaum is the former fiction editor of Story magazine, and has also edited two anthologies, First Words, which comprises the earliest attempts of such major authors as Amy Tan, Mark Helprin, Stephen King, Lorrie Moore, John Updike, etc., and the just-published 12: Short Stories and their Making, which includes work by such authors as Sandra Cisneros, George Garrett, Jhumpa Lahiri, Ursula K. Le Guin, and Tobias Wolff. A former staff writer for Baltimore Magazine, Mandelbaum now lives an teaches in Los Angeles, CA.
