Curse or Blessing, and to Whom? Oil Development & Civil Development Initiatives in Azerbaijan

On Friday, February 25, 2011, the Department of Geography & Environmental Planning will be hosting the Spring 2011 “What Matters Speaker Series and Happy Hour”. This week?s discussion and presentation entitled “Curse or Blessing, and to Whom?” Oil Development & Civil Development Initiatives in Azerbaijan will be led by Dr. Jeremy Tasch, Ph.D. Please join Dr. Tasch in Linthicum Hall room 014 at 3:00 pm this Friday.

Dr Tasch currently is an Assistant Professor at Towson University in the Department of Geography and Environmental Planning. His research interests are far and wide, they include resource developments in Central Eurasia; indigenous responses to globalization in Pacific Russia; Arctic sovereignty claims in the context of climate change; and the social theory of global environmental change.
