Hi folks!
A great big THANK YOU to all of you who participated in the Blood Drive Monday, November 3, and to those of you who helped with pre-registration on Oct. 11, 25, 27 and 28th. We had:
333 attempted donors who “presented”
203 productive units of blood donated
21 incomplete donations
109 deferrals
We had over 200 people pre-register for the drive and over 150 volunteers who worked pre-registration tables at football games and in the Union, worked the Registration Desk at the Blood Drive, worked the Canteen at the Drive, worked the “Save-A-Life Tour Mobile Museum” and served as greeters and “solicitors” in the University Union.
The day was magnificient! Sandy Unitas stopped by to lend support and gave a brief inspirational talk to those who were waiting (way too long!) to donate, and greeting people as they entered the Chesapeake Room. It was wonderful to see the many supportive coaches, athletes, students, faculty and staff who took valuable time out of their day to give to others, and most importantly contribute to saving lives!!!!
Again, thank you on behalf of the American Red Cross, PAWS, the Athletic Department, Human Resources, and the University.
