Towson Academy of Scholars Fellows for academic year 2008-09 will present their papers during the month of April. The campus community is invited to attend all seminars; each will take place in Cook Library, room 512.
Dr. Joel Slotkin, Department of English, will speak on ?Sinister Aesthetics: The Appeal of Evil in Early Modern English Literature? on Tuesday, April 14 at 3:30 pm. Professor Raphael Falco, University of Maryland Baltimore County, will serve as his discussant.
Dr. Christopher D?Addario, Department of English, will speak on Monday, April 20 at 3:30 pm. His topic is ?The Aesthetics of the Everyday in Early Modern England.” His discussant will be Professor Andrew Daniel, Johns Hopkins University.
Dr. Christian Koot, Department of History, will speak on “Mapping Interimperial Identity: Augustine Herrman?s Map and the New Amsterdam-Chesapeake Trade” on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at 3:30 pm. Dr. Edward Papenfuse, State Archivist and prolific author on the Chesapeake Bay region, will serve as his discussant.
