National Volunteer Week!

Towson University will be participating in National Volunteer Week on April 19, 2010 through April 24, 2010. Each day will have a different volunteer opportunity.
Monday, April 19th
Book Drive: Baltimore Reads
Please donate any new or lightly used books! The drive will run from
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the 2nd floor of the University Union.

Tuesday, April 20th
Food Drive: Maryland Food Bank
Please donate any non-perishable food items! Most needed items include canned meat/ham/chicken/tuna, peanut butter, macaroni and cheese, canned soups, canned beans, oatmeal, cereal, rice, pasta, canned fruits/vegetables, toothpaste/toothbrushes, deodorant, toilet paper, paper/plastic plates and cups, and baby formula and products. The drive will run from
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m. on the second floor of the University Union

Wednesday, April 21st
Adopt-a-Campus
Adopt-a-Campus will begin at 3:00 p.m. Students will be assigned a location on campus to pick up trash. Meet in the Office of Student Activities, Suite 217, in the University Union. If you are interested, please contact Dirron Allen at {DAllen@towson.edu}

Thursday, April 22nd
Clothing Drive: Salvation Army
Please donate any new or lightly used clothing! The drive will run from
10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m..

Friday, April 23rd
The Big Event
The Big Event is an all day service project that will consist of students completing volunteer tasks (such as painting, gardening, picking up trash, etc) around Towson and Baltimore City. Space is limited, so if you are interested, contact Helen Osun at {HOsun1@students.towson.edu} ASAP! You may also drop by on the day of the event to participate in activities stationed on campus!

Saturday, April 24th
TigerFEST:
Volunteers are needed to help with TigerFEST. In order to volunteer, a two hour commitment must be made. All volunteers will receive a free t-shirt and entry into the event. If you are interested, please contact Amanda Menke at {Amenke2@students.towson.edu}
