WTMD, along with the Downtown Partnership, City Paper, Agora, Tremont Suites and the Brewer?s Art, invites the TU community to enjoy a free First Thursday Concert on September 1, in downtown?s Mt. Vernon Square, at the foot of the Washington Monument. The show starts at 5:30 p.m.
Premier jam band Assembly of Dust couples melodic funk with funky southern rock and jazz riffs. WTMD listeners will recognize the catchy and clever songs ?Man With a Plan? and ?Roads? from regular airplay. Assembly of Dust comes to the park as an acoustic trio.
Judd and Maggie, the brother-sister duo from Maryland, open the show. Their just-released major label debut, ?Subjects?, features their unique blend of smart, seamlessly harmonized folk rock.
Food and beverages are available, so bring a blanket or some lawn chairs, look for the monument and listen for the music!
