The seventh regular meeting of the University Senate will be held on Monday, April 4, 2011, at 4 p.m., in Rooms 314-315 of the University Union.

OLD BUSINESS:
The proposal for a School of Emerging Technologies was tabled at the March meeting so that Fisher College faculty could further discuss it. It is being re-introduced for consideration at this meeting.

NEW BUSINESS:
Information item from the Exit Presentation of the Middle States Association Visiting Team

–Motion 10/11-21: Motion to receive the University Assessment Council
Annual Report
–Motion 10/11-22: “Adjunct Motion” sponsored by the AAUP and the
Senate Executive Committee
–Motion 10/11-23 Post-Baccalaureate Certificate for School Improvement

Discussion items
–The Provost is not a member of the Senate Executive Committee.
Discuss a motion to change this in the by-laws.
–Discuss Shared Governance and term limits of Senate members, a
recommendation from the Towson Self Study Report to Middle States
–Recommendation by the visiting Middle States team that Assessment be
used for continual improvement campus-wide (instead of just in
Academic and Student Affairs.)
–Suggested modification of by-laws pertaining to membership of the
University Assessment Committee
–Revisions to the faculty manual re learning objectives for course
syllabi
