Note to Staff from TUSC President Brenda Yarema

Fellow TU staff members,

As your Towson University Staff Council (TUSC) president, I feel it is my responsibility to bring your attention to matters that have a direct impact on you.

The Maryland General Assembly is in session through April 12 and will be making decisions that have a dramatic impact on pension and health care benefits for state employees and retirees. Their decisions will have a direct impact on your finances.

An example of one of the bills for ?out-of-pocket cap? for retiree prescription drug benefits calls for an increase from $700 to $4,500 for retiree only and from $700 to $9,100 for retiree and spouse.

There is a summary of the proposed bills at {http://capwiz.com/usmd/home/}; there you can read the impact of the bills and contact your representative. This will only take a few minutes of your time and as shown in the above example, you cannot afford to ignore this.

Please take a few minutes to educate yourself and make your opinion known to your representative in Annapolis.

One last thing, it is requested that you enter your personal email address on the form so that no politician can complain that you are lobbying on work time. Not a requirement but a request, and please pass this along to as many family and friends as possible.

Sincerely,

Brenda Yarema
TUSC President
