TOWSON, Md. ? Led by rising junior Meredith Budner, four members of the Tiger women?s swimming and diving team have been named to the College Swimming Coaches Association of America Scholar All-America Teams, it has been announced by the CSCAA.
In addition, the Tiger women?s swimming and diving team was named as a Scholar All-American team for the Spring, 2009 semester after recording a 3.29 team grade point average.
Budner was named as a Scholar All-American while rising senior Robin Glaser, rising junior Brooke Golden and rising sophomore Cari Czarnecki earned honorable mention Scholar All-America honors.

Honored as the CAA Women?s Swimmer of the Year, Budner led the Tigers to their second straight conference title. She was the CAA champion in the 500-yard freestyle (4:45.31), the 400-yard individual medley (4:15.08) and the 1650-yard freestyle (16:16.50), setting school and CAA records in all three events.
The second Towson female swimmer to ever qualify for the NCAA Division I Women?s Swimming and Diving Championship, Budner became the first women?s swimmer in Towson history to earn All-American status with an 11th place finish in the 1650-yard freestyle with a time of 16:06.82, which shattered her own previous school record. She also placed 35th in the 500-yard freestyle with a time of 4:44.87 and had a 38th place finish in the 400-yard individual medley.
Glaser earned All-CAA honors in the 200-yard freestyle after finishing in second place at the CAA Championships. She also was a member of the Tigers? 400-yard freestyle relay, 800-yard freestyle relay and 200-yard medley relay teams which earned All-CAA notice.
Golden was an All-CAA selection after winning the 200-yard butterfly and finishing third in the 500-yard freestyle while helping the Tigers place second in the 800-yard freestyle relay.
Meanwhile, Czarnecki earned All-CAA accolades in the 100-yard and 200-yard breaststroke events after finishing in second and third places, respectively, at the CAA Championships. She was also a member of the Tigers? 200-yard medley relay, which placed third in the CAA Meet.
To be selected to the All-American team, swimmers must qualify for the NCAA Championship meet and achieve a GPA of 3.50 or higher. Honorable Mention selections must achieve a NCAA consideration time and 3.50 or higher GPA.
