WOMEN’S LACROSSE: Britt Woodfield Nominated for NCAA Woman of the Year Award

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind. ? Senior midfielder Britt Woodfield of the Tiger women?s lacrosse team has been named as one of the nominees for the 2009 NCAA? Woman of the Year award, it has been announced by the NCAA.

Woodfield is one of two nominees for the Woman of the Year award from the Colonial Athletic Association. Senior Candace Gonzales of the Georgia State University women?s soccer team has also been named as a nominee for the annual honor by the CAA.

?I feel very honored to be nominated for this award,? Woodfield said. ?This award is not just based on athletics, but academics and community service as well. To be honored with the nomination for the award from our conference is a rewarding way to end my career.?
