TU Vice President named to Governor’s Task Force

TOWSON, Md.– Governor Robert L. Ehrlich has appointed Howard County resident Dr. James P. Clements to a statewide task force charged with studying ways to increase the number of women in the IT field. As Vice President for Economic and Community Outreach, Clements is deeply committed to addressing regional education, economic development and social issues in connection with Towson?s mission as Maryland?s Metropolitan University.

A member of the Department of Computer and Information Sciences faculty, he served as chair of the department, and founded and served as Executive Director of the University?s Center for Applied Information Technology (CAIT).

Beth Perlman, CIO of Constellation Energy, will chair the task force.
