TU Recertified as a National Center of Academic Excellence

The National Security Agency (NSA) and Department of Homeland Security (DHS) have jointly announced the recertification of Towson University as a National Center of Academic Excellence (CAE) in Information Assurance Education for academic years 2005 through 2008. Towson University will be formally recognized as having been recertified as a National Center of excellence by the NSA Information Assurance Director on June 7, 2005, during the annual conference of the Colloquium for Information Systems Security Education. The conference will be held on the campus of Georgia Tech in Atlanta, GA. Information about the Colloquium may be found at {www.ncisse.org}.

Universities designated as Centers are eligible to apply for scholarships and grants through both the Federal and Department of Defense Information Assurance Scholarship Programs.

The National Centers of Academic Excellence in Information Assurance Education Program retains the goal of reducing vulnerabilities in the national information infrastructure by promoting higher education in information assurance and producing a growing number of professionals with information assurance expertise in various disciplines.
