The inaugural session of the CLA Book Review Series will take place Thursday, February 5, from 3:30 to 5:00 in Linthicum 013.
To start off the series, Lena Ampadu (English) will moderate a panel discussion of Doing Our Own Thing: the Degradation of Language and Music and Why We Should, Like, Care, by John McWhorter, professor of linguistics at the University of Califorinia Berkeley. Members of the panel are Chris Cane, English; Lana Portolano, English; Gerry Phillips, Music; and Debbie Shaller, English/Cultural Studies and Director, The Writing Lab.
