VPN Service Being Replaced – Upgrade Now

Attention all faculty, staff and students that use the VPN service to access university resources at home:

Towson University has implemented a new VPN service to increase reliability and provide support for additional platforms. The new VPN service will support all currently supported platforms, as well as Microsoft Vista, Apple Leopard and Apple Tiger.

We ask that all existing VPN users begin using the new service this week. To install the new VPN client, go to {https://vpnc.towson.edu}, log in and follow the directions on the Web page. Once you have the new VPN client installed, it is safe to uninstall the old VPN client. On August 21,2008, the old VPN service will be discontinued.

For more information on Towson University?s VPN service, go to {http://www.towson.edu/adminfinance/ots/gettingconnected/infosecandvirus/faqs/vpn.asp}. If you have any other questions, or if you are trying to install the new VPN client on a university-owned computer to which you do not have administrative access, please contact the Help Center at 410-704-5151, option 2 + 2 + 2.
