Software Tip of the Week
Microsoft PowerPoint 2003: Loop a Sound File During a Slide Show
When you insert a sound file into PowerPoint, a small speaker icon appears on the visible slide. The speaker icon indicates that a sound file is linked to or embedded on the slide. You can configure this sound file so that it restarts (loops) repeatedly until you end your slide show or advance to the next slide.
1. Insert a desired sound file into your presentation (Insert > Movies and Sounds > Sounds from file?)
2. Right-click on the speaker icon and select Edit Sound Object from the shortcut menu.
3. In the Sound Options dialog box, select the Loop Until Stop check box.
4. Click OK to close the Sound Options dialog box.
5. Next, click Slide Show > View Show to launch your slide show and advance through the slides. When you reach the slide containing the sound file, click on the speaker icon to initiate the sound (unless you configured the sound to play automatically). When the audio has completed, it will restart or loop.
6. Note: To stop the sound from looping during the show, advance to the next slide or press the Esc to exit your slide show.
