Beginning May 11, First-Class Mail stamps will increase by two cents to a cost of 44 cents per stamp. There will be no change to the current additional ounce price for First-Class Mail, which remains at 17 cents.
Customers can continue to mail letters at today?s prices by purchasing the Forever Stamp before May 11. The postage value of the Forever Stamp is always the First-Class Mail single piece, 1 oz. letter price in effect on the day of use.
Extra Services will also encounter an increase May 11. The prices will now be as follows: Certified $2.80, Return Receipt $2.30, and Delivery Confirmation 70 cents. While prices, on average, change by the rate of inflation for each class of mail, many of the new prices are below the 3.8 percent Consumer Price Index price cap.
Standard Mail, Periodicals and Package Services will also be affected by the increase.
