Consider cost-saving options before you buy a parking permit!

Faculty and staff parking permits go on sale July 19, and all permits purchased via payroll deduction will be automatically renewed beginning July 1. Before you purchase or renew your permit, consider saving yourself some money by using one of the following alternative transportation options:

Off-campus shuttles go to numerous local apartment complexes as well as the Timonium Park & Ride. Take the free, hourly shuttle from your apartment or the Park & Ride and save money on gas and permit costs.
Carpool with a colleague to share the cost of the parking permit and reduce gas costs.
Bike or walk to campus if you live nearby. You?ll not only save money, but get exercise too!

Faculty and staff members who register for any of these alternative transportation options will automatically receive four free day-long parking codes each semester to use when they need to bring their vehicles to campus. Each person will also be registered for the Guaranteed Ride Home service, which provides a subsidized taxi ride or short-term car rental when one has to leave campus unexpectedly.

Remember, the last day to cancel your automatic permit renewal for payroll deduction is July 1. Cancellations can be done by submitting a cancel payroll deduction card to the Auxiliary Services Business Office (ASBO). The cards are available at {www.towson.edu/parking} or at the ASBO.

If you want to register for alternative transportation options, do it now! For more information on the programs listed above, go to {http://www.towson.edu/adminfinance/auxservices/parking/alttransportation/}.
