Construction Update

Campus construction is continuing to progress on campus as we work to fulfill the campus master plan, available at {http://www.towson.edu/masterplan}. Updates on campus construction projects are posted below. For more information on campus construction, go to {http://www.towson.edu/construction}.

College of Liberal Arts – Phase Two
? Masonry is complete on the middle portion of the building.
? Window framing and installation is in progress on the north side of the middle building.
? The steel framing of the glass gallery adjoining the two new sections of the building has begun.
? Zinc panels will be installed on the roof of the middle portion of the building in the coming weeks.

West Village Commons Construction Update
? All foundations for the building have been installed.
? The elevated concrete which will serve as the basis for the first level of the building, above the basement mechanical/electrical room, has been installed.
? The curved concrete wall which goes along Emerson Drive on the first floor of the building has been installed.
? Most of the columns supporting the second level of the building have been installed.
? Formwork is being installed for the basis of the second level concrete floor.

Campus Site and Safety
? The connecting bridge between Hawkins Hall and the Psychology Building is scheduled to open at the beginning of the 2010 minimester.
? The grand staircase between Hawkins Hall and the Psychology Building is on schedule to be completed by March of 2010.
? The remaining part of the Lecture Hall ramp and entrance will be dismantled beginning December 21, 2009.
? Additional connector walkways from CLA to Hawkins Hall will be installed the week of December 7, 2009.
? Improvements to the Lecture Hall plaza will begin in February 2010.
? The replacement of the stormwater culvert at University Avenue will begin December 21, 2009.
? The construction of the campus gateway is on schedule to begin in summer 2010.
