TU Recycling: Dos and Don?ts

Towson University has a single-stream method of recycling in which any standard recyclable can be placed into any recycling container on campus. Our RecycALL program eliminates the need to separate recyclables, streamlining campus recycling and maximizing the availability of recycling bins on campus. Below is a list of accepted materials.

Accepted Recyclables:
Aluminum cans and containers
Glass containers (any color)
Plastic containers (any numbered container, including the clamshell containers in dining halls)
Paper of almost any kind, including newspapers, magazines, paperback books, printer paper, mail, and most paper-based coffee and soda cups
Cardboard, including pizza boxes and cereal boxes
Steel and tin cans

Non-Accepted Materials:
Food waste
Liquids
Plastic bags

Light bulbs (these have a dedicated recycling bins on campus? for more information, go to {www.towson.edu/RecycALL})
Printer cartridges (these have dedicated recycling bins on campus ? for more information, go to {www.towson.edu/RecycALL})
Electronics (these have dedicated recycling bins in the lobbies of all campus residence halls ? for more information, go to {www.towson.edu/RecycALL})
Spiral-bound notebooks
Coat hangers, mirrors, and other household items
