This one-person performance was written and produced by Paxton Williams, a Chautauqua Scholar, based on extensive research he conducted at Iowa State University and the G.W. Carver National Monument in Diamond, Mo. George Washington Carver is most famous for the work he did researching and promoting alternative crops to cotton, such as peanuts and sweet potatoes. His work in plant pathology and mycology gained him national recognition and respect as a botanist.
