TIGER ATHLETICS: Pigskin Pass Raises Over $20,000 for Special Olympics

It was gorgeous running weather for the 170 Towson student-athletes who completed the first leg of the Pigskin Pass last Friday evening.

About 50 runners crossed the halfway point at Aberdeen Festival Park in Aberdeen, MD to a parade of cheerleaders and music.

Tyler Kupper, creator of the Pigskin Pass, was present to MC the ceremonious hand-off of the football from Doc, Towson?s mascot, to University of Delaware mascot, YoUDee, and congratulate all the runners on raising money for Special Olympics.

?In this competition,? Kupper said. ?The real winners are the athletes who train and compete in Special Olympics. They remind us that any of us can accomplish great things if only given the chance.?

After a short introduction by Kupper, Michael E. Bennett, Mayor of Aberdeen, shared his excitement about being part of the event and thanked all the runners for their participation….
