Join us for the Kick-off!!
The Kick-off for the Pigskin Pass will take place this Friday, November 7th, in Unitas Stadium from 11:30am to 12 noon. Over 170 Towson student-athlete runners have committed to participate in the first half of the relay run between the two schools, carrying a Ceremonial Football and raising money and awareness for Special Olympic Programs in Maryland and Delaware.
Our TU athletes will run the ball 29 miles to Aberdeen Festival Park, the mid-point between TU and the University of Delaware. Aberdeen’s Mayor Bennett will greet the athletes, and TU’s “Doc” will hand the ball off to Delaware’s Mascot YoUDee. The run will be suspended until early Saturday morning when the Delaware athletes complete the journey prior to the kick-off of the TU-Delaware football game at noon. At game time, TU and Delaware athletes will present the check for the monies raised for Special Olympics Programs to Special Olympics Athletes. To date over $10,000 has been raised between the two schools for these important programs..
We hope you can join us in the Stadium at 11:30am Friday and be a part of the spirited send-off. Contributions to support Special Olympics programs can still be made by logging on to www.pigskinpass.com.
