SOFTWARE TIP OF THE WEEK

Microsoft Word 2007 and 2003
Find and Replace Data in a Specific Column or Row

Do you work a lot in tables? If so, you may find that you need to find and replace data in a specific column or row without changing data elsewhere in the table. Luckily in Word, you can limit a Find and Replace search to a specific column or row you select.

1. Select the specific column or row that contains the data you want to replace.
2. In Word 2007: On the Home tab, click Replace in the Editing group. In Word 2003: On the Edit menu, click Replace.
3. In the Find what box, type the text you want to replace and in the Replace with box, type the text you want to replace it with.
4. Click on Replace All or Find Next and Replace, as desired.
5. In the dialogue box that asks Do you want to search in the remainder of the document?, select No.
