TIGER ATHLETICS: Big Weekend of Activities and Games

This Weekend’s Home Athletic Events

Join us this weekend as Towson Athletics welcomes back the students! The festivities start Thursday afternoon as the Women’s Soccer team faces Rider at 4 p.m. The Tigers are off to a 2-2 start, earning their first shut out of the season over Lafayette. Following the game, join us in Unitas Stadium for the unveiling of TigerVision, our new High Definition video board.

On Friday, travel to Stevenson University (formerly Villa Julie College), the home of Tiger Field Hockey. Undefeated at 1-0 on the season, the Tigers face Ball State in their home opener. Game time is 1 p.m. For directions to the field click here: {http://www.towsontigers.com//pdf7/138602.pdf}

Friday night, make your way over to PAWS in the Union for the “TU Football Challenge” where students can interact with members of the football team, challenge them to video games, hear Coach Gordy Combs give a lesson on the finer points of the game and play Tiger Trivia for a chance to win prizes. The event kicks off at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, make a day of it at Johnny Unitas Stadium as the Football team opens their home schedule with long time Baltimore rival Morgan State. Playing for local bragging rights, there will be a battle of the school bands at halftime and the first 1,000 students will receive a free Towson visor compliments of Towson Place Apartments. Thundersticks will be available to all students. So join us under the lights Saturday evening at 6 p.m. and help make the start of the 40th season of football a special one. You’ll want to be in the stadium early to see the Marching Band pre-game show and team introductions with the new HD TigerVision. Saturday’s game is presented by Fidelity Investments.

The weekend concludes on Sunday with a pair of home contests. The field hockey team plays Bucknell at 9:30 a.m. at Stevenson University. Then the men’s soccer team plays cross-town rival Loyola at 1 p.m. This game features the best in Baltimore soccer, as each team sends multiple players to the professional ranks each year.

So don’t rush home at the end of the day on Thursday. Stick around and spend your weekend cheering on the best Tiger athletics has to offer. For more information on your favorite team, visit the new {http://www.towsontigers.com}
