SWIMMING & DIVING: Men finish up strong, Women prepare for CAA title defense

Led by a sixth place effort from senior Devin Kirby, the Tigers finished the first full day of competition at the Colonial Athletic Association Swimming and Diving Championships in seventh place with 70 points. UNC Wilmington, which is attempting to win its ninth straight CAA title, leads with 242 points while host George Mason is second with 200 points.

“Our men had their best performance at the CAA Championships in years with their effort today,” Coach Pat Mead said.

Kirby placed sixth in the 50-yard freestyle by posting a time of 20.51 seconds while senior Bradley Bolin finished 13th in the one-meter diving event by scoring 208.80 points.

The Tigers also posted a sixth place effort in the 200-yard freestyle relay with a time of 1:24.28.

The CAA Championships continue on Friday with a pair of sessions beginning at 10 a.m.
