Jewish Studies Film Festival presents The Pawnbroker this Sunday

The Jewish Studies Film Festival presents the Pawnbroker on Sunday, April 3rd, 7 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. in Cheasapeake III.

Directed by Oscar winning Sidney Lumet and actor Rod Steiger, The Pawnbroker focuses on Sol Nazerman, embittered Holocaust survivor, haunted by the Nazis’ rape of his wife and murder of his children. Insensitive to his Harlem customers and his idealistic assistant Ortiz, Sol finally learns about hope and humanity through his sacrifice.
