In a previous notice, we listed a web site to find local flu shot clinics in your area: {www.findaflushot.com}. On this web site, after plugging in your zip code, you get a list of clinics. This list is preceded by an ad for a Maxim clinic which states that only Costco members can get shots at Costco clinics. PLEASE NOTE: THIS DOES NOT APPLY TO THE LIST OF CLINICS THAT COME UP ON YOUR SEARCH, E.G., GIANT FOOD STORES, ETC. IT ONLY APPLIES TO COSTCO CLINICS.
We have called the Giant Food Store at 6340 York Road and the only criteria for their flu clinic are that you are in a high-risk group. They will give the flu shot to adults 65 and over; younger individuals in high-risk groups must have a letter of vertification from their doctor.
Please do not call the Health Center with further questions about these flu clinic policies. The phone numbers of the flu clinics are listed on the web site. Contact them directly for more information.
