The African American Cultural Center cordially invites you to the opening reception of “Burn: A Show by Ben Leuthold” on Wednesday, May 12, 2004, 6:00 p.m.
Photographer Ben Leuthold is a recent Towson University graduate and currently is employed in our day care center. Leuthold’s iconoclastic photographic approach results in imagery that challenges the viewer to look closer. Shattered glass, teeth and fragmented figurative elements are juxtaposed utilizing “x-ray” like development techniques.
His photography has been described by faculty as “painterly photography.” Leuthold paints with his camera lens the macabre, the unusual, the mundane to exceptional effect.
