Special Olympics Maryland is now taking registrations for Cheer Teams – groups of family members, friends, co-workers, neighbors, classmates, etc. who have a very important role during the Opening Ceremony, held the night of Friday, June 10. That job is to pack the Towson Center and cheer and scream and yell as enthusiastically as possibly for the Summer Games competitors as they enter the arena during the Parade of Athletes, and all throughout the uplifting and exciting ceremony. The 2011 Special Olympic Maryland Summer Games include aquatics, athletics, bocce, cheerleading and softball.
