Do you like science? Do you like writing about science? Are you curious about genetic engineering? Ever wanted to turn your roommate green? Ever wanted to film your roommate turning green? The 2011 Baltimore iGEM (International Genetically Engineered Machines) TEAM may be just the thing you?re looking for!
The iGEM Competition is a synthetic biology research program for undergraduates. The iGEM Team will design a genetically engineered ?part?, build it, submit it to the Repository of Parts housed at MIT, and compete for medals at the iGEM Jamborees in the fall. The iGEM Team also needs students who can document and film the Team working in the lab, and maintain the Team wiki. You can earn 1-3 upper division credits in biology by enrolling and participating in this Independent Study program, and these credits can satisfy Research/Internship requirements for most science majors. Check out iGEM on the web at {http://ung.igem.org/Main_Page}
AND attend the next iGEM Meeting on Thursday, June 2 at 8:00PM in Smith 360 or contact Dr Elizabeth Goode at {egoode@towson.edu}.
Registration is open until June 10.
