Glaucoma is an eye disease that affects more than 70 million people worldwide.
It is the second leading cause of preventable blindness in the world and the leading cause of preventable blindness among African Americans.
Sight lost to glaucoma can never be recovered.
Towson University students, faculty and staff are being offered free glaucoma testing on Tuesday, February 26 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Good Health Center at Good Samaritan Hospital.
The free screening is made possible by the Polakoff Foundation in partnership with the Maryland Society for Sight.
