New Cisco IP Phone Tips

Since most of the Towson University campus has now received their new phones, OTS Training and the OTS Telecom Help Desk have put together a list of tips that we hope you will find helpful.

To retrieve voicemail from an off-campus location:
1. Dial 410-704-6200 from any location.
2. Enter your extension (ID) followed by #.
3. Enter your PIN followed by #.
4. New messages will begin to play.

The TU Design Center and Photographic Services have created 22 background images for you to choose from for your phone. To change your background, follow these steps:
1. Press the settings button.
2. Press 1 for User Preferences.
3. Press 2 for Background Images.
4. Use the Navigation buttons to move to an image.
5. Press the Select softkey.
6. Press the Save softkey.
7. Press the Exit softkey twice.

Conference calls can now include up to 8 people. To create a conference call, follow these steps:
1. During an existing call, press the More softkey.
2. Press Confrn (Conference) softkey.
3. Enter the phone number of the conference participant on the keypad.
After the call connects and you speak with the conference participant, press the Confrn softkey.
4. This will add the other party to the call.
5. Repeat these steps to add additional participants.
6. To end the conference call, press the EndCall softkey.

You can change the speed of a voicemail message while you are listening to the message. While listening to the message, press 6 to speed up the message or press 7 to slow down the message.

To forward all of your incoming calls from your primary line to voicemail, follow these steps:
1. Press the CFwdALL softkey.
2. Press the messages button on your phone.
3. To cancel, press the CFwdALL softkey again.

If you wish to send someone a voicemail without having their phone ring, dial * followed by the party?s extension.

You may check your voicemail through the web while you are on campus.
