Computing and Network Services will utilize Sundays from 6 a.m. to noon to perform routine maintenance procedures for the university system, effective Sunday, November 16. This set time frame will allow technicians to upgrade hardware and software, ensure the system is secure, as well as perform other check-ups on an as-needed basis.
During the service window, some services may be affected and out of use. CANS will notify the campus community through Daily Digest of which services, if any, will be affected one week prior to the Sunday on which the maintenance will take place. This ensures that individuals will be prepared for any effects well in advance and will plan their activities accordingly.
CANS decided early Sunday mornings were the best opportunity for these services after research proved that there is relatively little usage of the system during that time frame.
