The Office of Technology Services (OTS) recently streamlined its technology training services by merging the training resources of Student Computing Services, the Center for Instructional Advancement and Technology and the Technology Support Services Training Center to create a consolidated approach available to students, faculty and staff.
In addition to the merge, all OTS training information and resources can now be found at a single location on the Web: {http://www.towson.edu/OTStraining}. Here students, faculty and staff can view a consolidated training calendar and register for all workshops in one place.
Information for November, December and January workshops is now available at the OTS Training site! Look for fliers distributed around campus this week for information on the January Workshop Series, which begins Monday, Jan. 3 and continues through Friday, Jan. 21.
Self-paced quick sheets and course document downloads presented in one, easy-to-use format are also available as an alternative to workshops.
Workshop offerings will be based on feedback from students, faculty and staff who use the Survey Form located at {http://www.towson.edu/OTStraining}. For example, if a student uses one of OTS Training?s instructional documents to learn new software but needs more assistance with a specific aspect of it, he or she can use the Survey Form to request help.
SCS and CIAT will continue to provide all other services besides workshops as usual. SCS handles technology support for students, which includes the SCS Service Desk and SCS Computer Lab in Cook Library, room 35. CIAT works with faculty to identify and use appropriate technology applications that apply to teaching and learning. Its Faculty Lab is located in Cook Library, room 405.
