The International Student and Scholar Office (ISSO) is thrilled to welcome 88 new students from 31 countries for the Fall 2018 semester. New international students took part in orientation activities including a tour of Burdick Hall, a visit to local shopping areas, a luncheon hosted by the International Student Association, a tutorial on using MTA buses, and a visit to downtown Baltimore including the Inner Harbor and Fells Point.
The ISSO staff was assisted by our International Ambassadors, a select group of domestic and international continuing students who assist fellow students in navigating their new university environment. Their communications began during the summer before the students arrived in the United States through e-mail and social media and will continue throughout the semester.
Please join the ISSO and TU International in welcoming our new and continuing students to campus, for a total of approximately 500 International Tigers! The diversity, scholarship and goodwill that they contribute to our community are invaluable. We are delighted they are here and wish them success this semester and beyond.
