OTS Training Tip of the Week

Save Time by Automatically Updating the Date and Time in Your Documents

If you frequently send out dated documents on a recurring schedule, changing the date can be cumbersome. Here’s a quick tip to save some time by adding an automatically updating date function.

  1. Place your cursor in the document where you would like to insert the date.
  2. Click on the Insert tab in the ribbon.
  3. In the Text group of the Insert tab, click on Date & Time.
  4. Select your preferred format for the date and/or time in the Date and Time window.
  5. Check the box beside Update automatically.
  6. Click the OK button.

Date and Time Window

When you open your document in the future the date and/or time will update automatically.
