Title: Homology groups in model theory
Date: Friday, November 3
Time: 2pm
Location: York Road Building, room 205
Abstract: Model theory is a branch of mathematical logic. One of the goals of the field is to understand when the familiar mathematical structures (orderings, vector spaces, etc.) can be found inside abstract mathematical objects. The purpose of this presentation is to give an introduction to the model-theoretic questions I pursued during the sabbatical leave.
