Network Outage in Cook Library Building – Weds., March 22 and Thursday, March 23, 2017
The Office of Technology Services (OTS) is upgrading the data network in the Cook Library building on March 22 and 23. On those days, data and telephone services will be out of service in the building while upgrades are completed. Network access will return on a rolling basis throughout the building as work is completed.
The outage will not affect OTS services to the rest of campus.
Library Services
The Library will be open with limited library services during the outage on March 22 and 23.
- From inside the building, there will be no network access to the Cook Library website, catalogs, databases, or electronic journals during the outage. Access to network resources will be available from outside the library building.
- Walk-up circulation and interlibrary loan services will be available during the outage.
Office of Technology Services (OTS) Services
Faculty/Staff Help Center and Student Computing Services will provide the following support during the outage.
- The Faculty/Staff Help Center will provide only telephone support during the week of Spring Break, March 20-24, from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m. There will be no walk-in support, computer pick-up, or mobile device pick-up during the outage on March 22 and 23.
- Student Computing Services will provide support from Towson Run Room 123 on March 22 and 23, from 8 a.m. – 4:30 p.m. This includes telephone support, walk-in service, and computer lab usage. During the upgrade, Cook Library Room 35 will be closed and there will be no multimedia equipment check-in or check-out.
Academic Achievement Center will be open Wednesday, March 22 from 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. at 7800 York Road, room 109. It will reopen Thursday, March 23 in Cook Library, 5th floor.
Office of Academic Innovation (OAI) will be closed Wednesday, March 22. It will reopen Thursday, March 23.
