Dame Frances Cairncross—a Woodrow Wilson Visiting Fellow, journalist, and educator with a global perspective—is leading British commentator on economics, finance, and management. A graduate from Oxford and Brown Universities, she was a financial journalist for The Guardian and then The Economist, where she worked for 20 years, most recently as a finance editor. She is the author of The Death of Distance and The Company of the Future. In 2004, she became rector of Exeter College, Oxford, where she served until 2014.
