TODAY Towson University Celebrates its 100th year in Towson

On September 15, 1915, Stephens Halls opened its doors and ushered in a new era for the Maryland State Normal School. The MSNS had spent its first 50 years in multiple locations in Baltimore before permanently moving to the suburbs of Towson.

We will be celebrating Towson’s 100th birthday with free Birthday Cake-flavored Rita’s Italian Ice in multiple locations around campus: outside Stephens Hall, the Beach, Susquehanna Terrace, and outside West Village Commons. Stop at any of these locations tomorrow from 11am-1pm to grab some Rita’s and celebrate the historic occasion.
