Dr. Ray Lorion assumes new role at TU

On July 1, 2015, after more than a decade serving as dean of the College of Education, Dr. Raymond P. Lorion assumed full-time responsibility as executive director of the Center for Application and Innovation Research in Education (CAIRE). Established by Dr. Lorion in 2010, CAIRE has been responsible for evaluating the Maryland State Department of Education’s Race To The Top grant and for designing, implementing and evaluating an innovative approach to teacher induction with Baltimore County Public Schools. Operating within Towson University’s Office of the Provost, CAIRE will continue that work in the area of school-based interventions, to improve student learning and reduce emotional and behavioral obstacles to academic success. Dr. Lorion also will continue to collaborate with faculty across the campus and be available to assist in developing applications for funding from federal, state and private sources. CAIRE will continue to inform faculty of opportunities for collaboration and to invite participation in future activities.
