Towson’s Do it in the Dark Campaign has come to an end and the results are in. Congratulations to Barton for winning the competition and a $250 prize. Also, congratulations to Deanna Sipes for winning the individual challenge and a $250 prize.
Do it in the Dark was a four week competition between the residence halls to see who could have the lowest energy consumption. Each of the residence halls energy consumption was measured and compared at the end of each week. Tips were posted in each of the residence halls in order to promote less consumption.
Barton won the competition with an average score of 11.4% reduction in the four weeks followed by Newell with 4.89% reduction and Douglas in third with 2.13% reduction.
Douglas resident Deanna Sipes won for best education efforts. Deanna Sipes created posters and bulletin board with helpful tips to reduce energy. Her tips included insightful information for others to learn what they gain from reducing their energy consumption.
